Québec is not especially convenient for walking since few daily errands can be run without having to use a vehicle. Even though cycling is more practical in some pockets than others, and the bicycling network is good, Québec is also not particularly appropriate for cycling as cyclists encounter a significant amount of hills.

The nearest supermarket in Québec is usually only a reasonably short walk away. A small selection of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.
