About Living in Cambridge, Ontario
Transportation
Cambridge is very car friendly. It is very easy to park. However, Cambridge is not an especially pleasant part of the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area for travelling by public transit. Thankfully, property owners are served by around 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most residences. Most houses for sale in this city are located in areas that are not very well-suited for walking because few daily errands can be run without having to use a vehicle. It is also challenging to move around by bicycle in Cambridge because riding is rendered arduous by the often hilly terrain, and this city has a rather poor cycling infrastructure.
Services
Getting to one of around 30 grocery stores on foot is feasible for some, but not all, home buyers in Cambridge. There are also a few options for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. As far as education is concerned, primary schools and daycares are convenient to access on foot from anywhere in Cambridge. However, it can be difficult to get to high schools as a pedestrian.
Character
Cambridge is a reasonably good city to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. There are over 50 green spaces close by for residents to visit, such as Hespeler Optimist Park and Riverside Park, resulting in them being easy to reach from a lot of locations within Cambridge. This city is also quiet, as the streets are generally reasonably calm - although that is not the case closer to one of the railway lines, Highway 8 or Highway 401.
