Altamont is an extremely convenient part of West Vancouver for travelling by car. The character of Altamont is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. There are around 10 parks nearby for residents to check out and they are very well-distributed, making it easy to reach them. This part of West Vancouver is also reasonably good for those who need quiet areas, as the streets are usually peaceful - however noise can be problematic closer to the railway line or Trans-Canada Highway.
