Today, Rosedale is synonymous with luxury real estate in Toronto and is recognized as one of the most affluent residential areas in the city. The Neighbourhood

Rosedale is located north of downtown Toronto and is bounded by Yonge Street to the west, the Rosedale ravine to the south, the Don Valley to the east, and the CPR railway tracks to the north. The neighbourhood, which was home to the 110-acre Rosedale estate in the 19th century, takes its name from the abundant roses that grew along the hillside.

While Rosedale is just steps from the vibrant Yonge Street corridor and the bustling intersection of Yonge and Bloor, it is easy to forget you are in the middle of Toronto when in this quiet neighbourhood. The area is surrounded by beautiful ravines and parkland, and there is little to no traffic noise along the neighbourhood’s tree-lined streets.

The Parks

Leave the stress of city life behind as you enjoy the outdoors in Rosedale. Trails weave through valleys and ravines, allowing hikers to explore the area’s natural beauty, while a leisurely stroll through Rosedale Park has spectacular vistas allowing you to admire the skyline through the trees. Rosedale Park also has tennis courts, a sports field, an ice rink, and a wading pool, and is the location of the neighbourhood’s annual spring party, Mayfair.

The Schools

Educational opportunities abound in this area which has excellent public and private schools. Branksome Hall, located in South Rosedale, is an internationally renowned girls school that offers a complete education from kindergarten to grade 12. Its picturesque 13-acre campus is a mix of heritage buildings and modern structures housing two saltwater pools, dance and yoga studios, a high performance fitness centre and more.

The neighbourhood also has some of Toronto’s best public schools. In fact, Rosedale Junior Public School was ranked among the top one percent of elementary schools in all of Ontario.

The Shopping

Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood, just west of Rosedale, is the place to shop and connect with the latest fashion trends. With a range of high end boutiques and luxury retail, shoppers can find all of the latest styles in this chic shopping district. As one of the most fashionable areas of Toronto, Yorkville is also home to many local designers and unique shops at the forefront of Canadian and international style.

Avid golfers need look no further than the prestigious Rosedale Golf Club, one of Toronto’s most exclusive country clubs. This private club catering to the city’s elite is a scenic green oasis with 18 holes of golf located in the centre of the city. The Rosedale Golf Club rarely appears in golf course rankings, but only because it is so exclusive that many professionals and golf writers have never had a chance to play there.
