This neighbourhood is a fairly convenient part of Waterloo for pedestrians; many common errands can be run without the use of a car. On the other hand, Willowdale is not particularly cycling-friendly as there are a limited number of bike lanes, and cyclists are faced with a significant amount of slopes. Nonetheless, a few pleasant areas for cycling can be found. Willowdale is not particularly transit friendly. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. In contrast, Willowdale is an extremely good part of Waterloo for moving around by car. It is very easy to park, and it is a short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 85, from anywhere in Willowdale.

It is convenient to reach the closest supermarket on foot from most houses for sale in this area. Additionally, this part of Waterloo is a good place in which to go out to eat. With regards to education, parents and their schoolchildren will value the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within walking distance from the majority of properties for sale in Willowdale.

Willowdale offers a calm environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are a few parks nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Moses Springer Park and Breithaupt Park, making it easy to reach them from a lot of locations in this area. This part of Waterloo is also fairly good for those who need quiet surroundings, as the streets are generally reasonably tranquil - although there are still several louder sections, especially around Highway 85.
