Lifestyle

Transportation

Driving is usually the best approach to move around in Carp. It is especially convenient to come across a parking spot. Carp is not very suited for biking since the cycling network is quite bad, and there are a good number of hills. Travelling on foot is also not very practical for residents in this neighbourhood as carrying out daily needs is very difficult.

Services

There are only a very small number of primary schools in this part of Ottawa and therefore they can be a very long walk away. In addition, Carp does not have any high schools. Furthermore, it can be very difficult to reach daycares on foot. When it comes to eating, home buyers in Carp almost always have to turn to a vehicle to travel to the nearest supermarket.

Character

Carp is quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several noisier sections, especially around the railway line, Highway 7, Highway 417 or the airport (YRP). It is rather challenging to get to green spaces from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood since they are sparse. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to discover.
