Southdale is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways are very easy to drive to from any home in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. It is at times challenging for pedestrians to get around in Southdale because few daily errands can be run without having to resort to a vehicle.

Getting to the closest supermarket by walking is practical for some, but not all, house buyers in this neighbourhood. Residents can enjoy approximately 10 restaurants and cafes as well. With respect to education, it is a rather short walk to get to schools and daycares from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood.
Character
People who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy Southdale. Green spaces, including Southdale Community Center and Shamrock Park, are especially well-located and there are about 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in, making it easy to access them. This part of Winnipeg is also reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around the railway line.
