Professional Experience
Marla Simon was born in New York and moved to Los Angeles with her family at an early age. She is a graduate of UCLA who turned an internship at Columbia Records into a 20+ year career, rising to the position of Vice President International Sales and Marketing for Sony Music based out of New York City. Marla spent her entire career in marketing, often touring the world visiting local markets with some of the most recognizable artists in music history (Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Ozzy Osbourne, Hall & Oates, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Gloria Estafan, Cyndi Lauper among many others). While doing International Marketing she learned to quickly size up a market and determine the optimal method of reaching the target audience with a message tailored to be relevant to the local population. She is a professional marketer who understands that you have to look beyond demographics to understand purchase behavior. Music marketing is more about lifestyle and psychographics and so are homes. Marla is a social media expert, adept at leveraging the key properties of facebook, twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest as marketing vehicles. Marla is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and operates TheNutritionCounselor.com. She is an excellent cook and has a large twitter following for her nutrition expertise. As a member of the Georgian Peaks Ski Club, she is past and current chair of Ladies day, the largest private club event on the escarpment annually selling out 675 tickets in less then 24 hours. She is a volunteer with the local Special Olympics group and the Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg. Marla is an avid skier, loves to hike, bike, do yoga and looks forward to stand up paddle boarding in the summer months.
