In Highway 97, roughly one third of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. Driving is an excellent transportation option in this sector. It is especially convenient to find a place to park. On the other hand, public transit riders may have limited options in Highway 97 as a result of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, the sector is connected by around 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally close by. It is inconvenient for people walking to navigate Highway 97 as very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.
Services
Parents and their children may find it very hard to reach high schools and primary schools as pedestrians. Likewise, there are only a very small number of daycares and accordingly they can be a very long walk away. There are top high schools, including Aberdeen Hall Senior School, in Highway 97. When it comes to food, in vast majority cases, a vehicle is needed in Highway 97 to reach the closest supermarket. There are also a few opportunities for those who care about restaurants and cafes in close proximity.
Character
Highway 97 is reasonably good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are usually peaceful - although there are still several noisier areas, especially close to the airport (YLW) or the railway line. Public green spaces are sparse, making it occasionally hard to reach them from most locations within this part of Kelowna. Despite that, there are a few parks nearby for residents to enjoy.
